Common name : The Hyacinth-like Bryobium

Characteristic : Pseudobulben short cylindrical-fusiform, up to 10 cm, bearing at top 2 leaves, lanceolate, narrow, pointed, at the bottom of stalk-like narrowed to c. 25 cm long. Clustered moderately loose, much flowers,up to 20 cm long, fine and thin hair. Flowers white, about 1 cm in size, sepals and petal blunt, oblong. Lip three-lobed, with two hairy thickenings and beaten down the anterior lobe. Anther golden. bloom time:

Type : 
Mount Salak, West Java. Flower season in May.

Syntipe :
Rejang Lebong regency, Bengkulu. Flowering 02 February 2013.


Scent :
With hyacinth like clusters of white flowers that smells like spoiled lasagna if you hold it close to the nose. Unpleasant scente  A few my friend say odor like sperm scent or Bayclean ( a whitening  trademark for laundry).


Alttitude reported in wild :
c. 500 - 1700 m. Whole provinces in Sumatra.
