Staurochilus fasciatus (Rchb.f.) Ridl.,1896 var. fasciatus


The is only orchid from genus Staurochilus, and name is Staurochilus fasciatus. The specimen collected from south west sumatra, where the J. B. Comber say, difficult to find in this area because suspectly depend in a seasonal climate. Specimens flowering on 13 June, 2011 at Leicneagra`s orchid garden.

Characterisric :
Habit of the previous, but the inflorescences usually unbranched and shorter. About 5 cm wide flowers, sepals and petals spreading, oblong, pointed, greenish yellow with brown transverse bands. Lip, the two posterior lobes upright, short, spreading, the middle lobe, much longer front overlap ligulate, spitlich, upper side with a high keel, three hairy keels.
