This species have the unique leaves from other species in genus Eria section Hymeneria. From all these species it is easily distinguished by its linear very thick channeled leaves.
Eria section Hymeneria already revised into properly genus Pinalia. We revised this species name from Eria scotiifolia to be Pinalia scotiifolia.
