This specimen flowering on 14 August 2012 in Leicneagra`s garden. He collected near Curup highland, c. 1200 1300 m above sea level.
- Determine ID base on draw line by J. J Smith on "Icones Orchidacearum Malayensium II" Tabula 175 : 1.
- Base on note in basionym say the colour and the lip totally different with Liparis atrosanguinea. (Bulletin du Jardin Botanique serie III - Volume : 48, 1928).
- The illustration heterotypic synonymy of Liparis conspicua and Liparis tixieri is from Seidenfaden p. 17 (1976) show certain differences when compared with Liparis conspicua J. J. Smith. This was the plant with deep purple flowers which was found in Sumatra. (J. B. Comber, Orchids of Sumatra : 140, 2001).
- This specimen show the Liparis conspicua conspicuous different with Liparis atrosanguinea (colour and lip totally different) and Liparis textie (Illustration Seidenfaden different with draw lines J. J. Smith).
- So far Liparis conspicua record only from sumatra and most possibly endemic.
- Still need more specimen for investigation to show if it is the correct Liparis conspicua for confirmation or correction ID. (Tun Jang 15082012)
