Phaius wallichii Lindl., 1831

So, no doubt any more if Phaius wallichii Lindl. really occur in Sumatra. This photo be answer for long time question about this species really record in Sumatra or not.

Phaius wallichii Lindl. in long time make many orchilogis confuse if it is same with Phaius tankervilleae (Banks) Blume.

The very interesting article with title Phaius tankervilleae and P. wallichii (Orchidaceae), a pair of confused species already write by Cribb, Phillip;Sun, Mei;Barretto, Gloria in Kew Bulletin; 2004; 59, 4. This paper very clear to explain they are separate species.
