In Sumatra J. J. Smith already put grostophyllum glumaceum as Sumatra plant in Enumeration of the Orchidaceae of Sumatra and neighbouring islands page : 208, 1933. According to him it is collected from East coast, Deli, Medan, north Sumatra (Held, cult, in Hort. Bog. II M, f204). West coast, Loeboek Sikaping, Tanang Taloe (H.A. B. Bünnemeijer, cult, in Hort. Bog. II M, a 14).

The area distribution is Borneo and Peninsular Malaysia. After specimen flowering in Bogor Royal Botanical Garden, J. J. Smith adding Sumatra as new area distribution for this orchid.

Plant from Philiphine already name as Agrostophyllum wenzelii by Ames in year 1915, so thats why Philiphine exclude in distribution area. And most possible have a few different characteristic with Agrostophyllum glumaceum.

Specimen photo below collected from Ujan Mas district, Kepahiang Regency, Bengkulu, in July 2011, and flowering during January - February 2013 in Curup, Rejang Lebong regency, Bengkulu. Capture by Mr. Leicneagra to me for determine ID.

Identification based on compare with photo specimen herbarium to recognize the plant and read original description. There are mistake made by J. B. Comber in key determination in book Orchid of Sumatra page : 307, 2001, in number 11. the key said : Leaves usually 4 cm long for Agrostophyllum glumaceum.  The correct one is the leaves usually c. 20-40 cm long by 2 cm broad. Key modifications should be made as correction.
