Polystachya penangensis Ridl., 1896 describe first time from specimen collected from Penang island, part of Pensinular Malaysia. The locate is near Riau if we try to connected the possible ID with all heterotypic synonym list. I think the possibility ID also Polystachya singapurensis Ridl., 1896, but the number of leaves not matching with this specimen. Compare to Polystachya flavescens (Blume) J.J.Sm., 1905 from Java its is different side lobe and mid-lobe of labellum form.
Polystachya penangensis Ridl., 1896 allied to Polystachya concreta (Jacq.) Garay & H.R.Sweet, 1974, this species reintroduce or transfer later in year 1974 by Garay and H. R. sweet from basionym Epidendrum concretum Jacq., 1760
