Posted 26112012

First descriptiuon from cultivation specimens in Royal Botany Garden Bogor at year 1927 by J. J. Smith. Specimens collected by A. Bouman-Houtman from Krui, Bengkulu province. 

Among the species of the section Oxystophyllum this is well charaterized by the colour of  the flowers, the cuneate petals and very rugose erose epichyl of the lip.

Dorsal view. Labellum erect, recurved just below the middle, not lobed, oblong, fleshy. 
The apical part with thin margins wich are strongly recurved, rugose, and eros.
