 Dendrobium forcipatum J.J.Sm., 1920

This orchid similar look to Flickingeria appendiculata (Blume) A.D.Hawkes, a species native to Java, and Flickingeria bifida (Ridl.) A.D.Hawkes, native to Peninsular Malaysia.

Dendrobium forcipatum revised to properly genus (comb. nov.) first time by Uway. W. Mahyar, named to be Flickingeria forcipatum in book Anggrek Alam Bengkulu, 1997. To avoid confuse name with species Flickingeria forcipata (Kraenzl.) A.D.Hawkes, I make new revised and combination nova base on name second revision earlier Ephemerantha smithii P.F.Hunt & Summerh., named combine to be Flickingeria smithii. Smithii taken name from J. J. Smith as descriptor Dendrobium forcipatum.

Specimen collected near river Alas Leuser, Aceh province, Sumatra at c. 1000 m above sea level. Growing as  lithophytic on stomes with many moss at surface. Flowering in Blangkejeren at Mr. Cipta Kurniawan garden`s on 24 July 2012.
