Rediscovery Dendrobium clavipes Hook. f.
For many years this orchid do not have live specimen for investigation. The appearance draw line similar look like Dendrobium truncatum, so put this species as heterotypic synonym for temporary.

Compare to Dendrobium truncatum, Dendrobium clavipes have more acute lip, and more ovoid pseudobulb. Dendrobium clavipes have wart like with bright orange colour at midlobe lip, very distinct with Dendrobium truncatum. 

Specimen  photo send to me by Mrs. Widya Christina Mendrova on 26 July 2012 to determine ID. Specimens flowering lasting 3 days, bloom on 30 June2012 untill 02 July 2012. No fragrant. She collected specimen from Nias Island, found epiphyt at Rubber tree (Hevea braziliensis).

Due, there are revised to properly genus yet, we make new combination nova to genus Ceraia, named to be Ceraia clavipes.

New Record in Sumatra
In basionym this species found in Perak, Peninsular Malaysia and Java. Our specimens come from Nias island part of Sumatra region.
